board and as soon as it starts that you go to all yours mr. chair all right so I'm still trying to get the agenda up cuz I have no idea what's going on my computer but I know we have some meeting minutes to approve so I can so I can pick that up I got 10 minutes I have no problem getting my computer decided to update or I don't know what it's it's still doing so pull up the agenda on the on the Shore Drive Harrisville School Board oh I got one hope I lost it all right I've got it and I'll just yes probably share screen share I know we need a I make a motion to approve the April 27th 2020 regular non-public minutes and they as well as the September 28th 2020 regular non-public minutes no we need to and the twins of September 28th I've been in contact with Audrey I move to amend the September 28th 2020 regular meeting on page 3 the amount of $910 the gift from the PTO for the Edition ET and additional support I need to have an exact amount Claire just just for the purpose of the procedure we need the second Eric's motion first you can make that if you second and then we can have a discussion that we can amend it okay I moved up except motion discussion now according to Jake Audrey we need to amend the ones for the September 28th because they lacked have an exact amount to say how much of the gift is that we received okay so you want to make a motion to amend I move to amend the September 28th 2020 regular meeting on page 3 to add the amount of $910 for the gift on the PTO for the alto seed and additional support it's not at the boat on the amendment first so all in favor of the I meant as written say I have to vote on the final piece the original motion with the Amendment added so all in favor of that okay we're getting out there now I'll make a motion to accept the if you guys want there's no public input I'm assuming so is there's no don't make a motion to accept the business report back up one please number three bills and manifest okay 310 that's actually can have Scott like a Bryson Scott a thing if we're all caught up on that I don't know what the rules are got you want to yeah so they are signed but we still need to read them into the the minutes we have those somewhere where I can read them in 2 minutes obviously I don't have it right now hold on let me see all right we'll come back to bills and manifest than air so now I should make the now I can make a motion to except the financial report so I'll make a motion to have second seconded discussion Scott Europe alright so is everyone knows the September financial report is always a closing out of the prior year and this month October is our first forward-looking financial report but we are going to see today is the revenues as they should be and the expenses that we have incurred to this point however there will be the salary and benefits are not updated at this time those are still in as budgeted as we are currently working through updating all the actual benefits elections for all of the employees and any changes in Staffing turn between we budgeted and now so with that being said I'm like going through my notes here to well pulling up Rob screen stuff we look at the this year we are currently for revenues will start at the top Rob look for you but everything is as budget because we just got it all in except for the 30 so we had 18,000 intuition which is three tuition to vertebral Choice students we bumped up the interest to $2,000 this year to reflect the increased rear turn. got last year on the funds and as usual for Harrisville we didn't get any adequacy Aid and we did not receive any cat Aid but other than that the revenues are pretty much standard and on budget at this time scrolling down to our regular instruction this is what I was just doing a second ago we're going to notice that the old real deviation from the budget for expenses are the King Middle School in Keene High School tuition when I was trying to do just now with his pull up our actual enrollment versus budgeted but I can tell from the numbers off the top of my head that right now we have two and a half less King High School and King Middle School regular bed tuitions then we had budgeted last year which gives us a small Surplus projected of $33,878 call we have some slight overages in Building Services and in VA health services and that was just some supplies that we bought most likely linked to the covid-19 Shane just that we are making to keep the school and staff safe all in all we're looking heading that projected surplus of $26,519 right now with the bulk of that coming from tuitions it's still very early to be projecting end of you as we all know tuition come and go students move in and out and stuff right now we are in the black and hopefully that continues to go any questions or not you have any questions on that no I think so turn on the water blind as they mentioned last year most of the things like Health guidance Sykes beat the only real savings we have in those are like supplies and other things like that so I took this early juncture in the air I just put them on his budget like they are going to spend like we had budgeted so okay look up any other discussion on it alright so we have a motion to approve the financial report of over 19 all in favor already check the box Town tuition rate so every year we create a Town tour turn rate for the based on the state per-pupil cost calculation in this uses numbers as you can see gold directly from our daily 25 basically takes the overall budget as expended in isolate the cost for educating elementary students within our building it removes any like middle school or high school cost removes like Transportation expenses for field trips and co-curricular and really just focuses on specifically on what it cost to get students to inform and educate  Atwells morning so we fill in all these numbers that we put in our average daily membership and that gives us a tuition rate this year that tuition rate is $20,404 basis for that was the net expenses were only about $10,000 different than the year prior butter average daily membership was three points 7 students higher so when you take the same cost and you had a few more students to spread it out over that gives us a decreased and cost per pupil of $1,065 this gives us what the state considers to be our tuition write the boards and choose to accept that number and set that as their tuition rate or if they chose to they could increase or decrease it at their pleasure Jeopardy question I guess we should make a motion to accept it first then we can discuss it. Make a motion to accept the tuition rate of $20,404 discussion questions on that it's free it's just math it's not really any reason we want to make it bigger but is actually back in the day old time now he used to be like 2931 like absurdly high and people would go crazy cuz we be way above what the state average was we have a lot to your kids nice to see we're getting closer to that that's we come down a lot just because what is the student population run off with your break do you want to go to the reports about of those manifest 41. Thought you did on the bills and manifest with the numbers does anybody have the heart and want to tell him that he was muted me didn't hear a word he said how do you say Baba if you want to continue on to the principal's report I'll check back with you all right so then good afternoon everyone our enrollment has not changed since our September meeting we are still hovering around 63 students with anywho I have opted for the fully remote model we have received three generous donations and Gifts through grants the first is Grant award in the $250 from the New Hampshire environmental Educators through Squan late let me get Jerry had applied to purchase resources for outdoor opportunities for her class outside such as field guides binoculars we have also received a very generous amount of $1,607.16 from the Harrisville Community Fund after purchase outdoor gear such as rain ponchos fingerless gloves wool socks waterproof mittens and a bench for Outdoor Learning and we have received two generous check text from those of you who made shop at efforts to put their Hannaford's bills and our mailbox there for $255 and $168 which we would like to add your Student Activity fund and I'm asking the board you please accept those and just would like to thank those community members and those threat Chester County who have worked to allow us to purchase those that gear and those resources for students am I accept I think we should accept this as Mount we were very impressed it was down to the last $0.16 for the communities. That's right the loss of humor so so clear that was a motion to accept the New Hampshire environmental educator gift of $250 a Harrisville Community Fund gift of $1,607.16 and Hannaford helps schools Gifts of 255 and $168 correct that was a motion gifts as best it culinary all right all in favor say aye thank you very much and will make sure that Hannaford's in the community fund and the New Hampshire environmental Educators also received a thank you note from our our school and we have completed to safety drills date the first was the reverse evacuation and we have made sure that both cohorts of both A and B were able to participate in that and we have also completed our annual bus evacuation drill classroom teachers and I participated in a daylong collaboration with Mike Anderson who is a consultant out of Durham he's also an author we work together to a menu of options for independent work that will guide students remote work primarily on our Wednesday remote days we have been very excited to have Miss Genesis beer back from the Harris Center who is working currently with the K1 class in the 5-6 class mrs. Wilkes kindergarteners are learning about worms and earthworms biology and trying to scientifically prove what are earthworms prefer to eat on a day stay tuned and mrs. Barry's class is researching bees and pollinators they are doing some observations and flower dissection and then second and third fourth will soon be working with Jenna and hopefully for some winter tracking and animal investigation we have recently completed our annual flu Clinic we had a very high turnout this year boat again both cold and remote students were able to participate and we are still going to continue with our Halloween parties over Cold War a and cohort B and we are considering some special ways where our remote students possibly join in via Google meet to still celebrate they are going to look a little bit different this year. The staff still felt very strongly that it was important celebration to have school-wide two committee reports on I am the representative on the SAU data committee and professional development committee and we are working to administer and web this year again for kindergarten through sixth grade students we are about halfway through that process and we are trying to creatively come up with a proper procedure for a remote remote students to also participate and the state of also requiring us to administer be Statewide assessment insurance for students in fourth through eighth grade and that will take place the last week in October probably also the first week in November and the professional development committee is currently putting together an agenda for the November 3rd district-wide professional development day likely to include suicide prevention training for all staff and a keynote speaker anyone have any questions about the report this is your time Rob yet so before before I go I just wanted to backtrack to see whether or not Scott do you have those yeah right with that done before alright can you hear me yes all right so the checks dated 928 20/20 where checks 200-7727 to 207 760 in the amount of 41700 $52.61 that's all of it that's all I have to brew again so I make a motion to accept the Manifest as written as discussed alright so not a whole lot to report as I send something out every week now it sometimes more than once a week as you've probably seen throughout the opening of the school year so whenever there are updates I want to make sure that get that to to the board to the Publican in and be very transparent with everything that we've been doing toward the end of last week and it was actually even Friday that we sent out the screening assessment flow start just so folks actually understood how what the outcomes for stay-at-home were a different decision points are different answers regarding the screening assessment we sin that out on Friday it was included in again and today's update Community scuttlebutt about it that we weren't following the public health guidelines but you know I will very adamantly state we are one hundred percent following the exact guidance at Public Health has put forth in the reason I know that is because we have pushed back with the state epidemiologist on a couple of items and he has absolutely refused to alter what is recommendation is and rightly so that's that's his job and that's what he believes until I don't want to argue too much with them but we did question a couple of things and he has stood firm and that that is what our recommendation is going to be typically meet on Wednesday mornings we start the day off at Brighton early at 8 with a principals meeting just to go through whatever scenarios or situations might be arising so that we're staying on top of that that's something that we just started more recently the last couple of weeks but it will help us continue to navigate forward and then when that meeting is over at 9:30 we we meet with the school nurses actually I think we meet with them at 9 we'll just in case there's any covid-19 related you know we both with regard to the screening and sickness and illness is in our building I think that open communication is helping all of our buildings be able to navigate as they move forward and there's certainly a desire for from folks in the community to be fully on-site and I get that and I totally truthfully that's what we all want but we want to make sure that we're giving you calculate in a calculated manner so that we are maintaining that commitment to the safety and well-being king of our student nurse. That's what I would continue what I will continue to say in some situations it makes sense for schools to go back more than just the two games as they are in the hybrid relationship does not a lot of that hinges on enrollment numbers a lot of that hinges on physical capacity in order to continue to maintain appropriate books are in the building both the CDC and tell us that the recommended amount of distancing a 60 governor stated in his return to school plan back in August and you know it was okay to go down to three both health organizations have continued to maintain 6 feet as a preferred distance so what that means it's that each school district is left to their own decision-making on that front you know if we feel that 6 ft is what are we want to stay committed then we'll stay with 60 if we feel we can go down a little bit lower than we'll go down a little bit lower personally I'm not recommending that we go lower because it's hard to contradict with our health officials are telling us the other thing off of the organization are is on the importance of masking and the masking just as a reminder is not necessary to protect you from germs getting into you it's to protect your germs from getting out so yeah and I think sometimes we forget that and then we think that the mask makes us both broke but really what you're doing is your you are helping to protect others from Catching or or having your germs enter into their body so I will keep will keep hearing it Eric I want to say thank you to you for your inclusion in the do your part video that was awesome hair is definitely on the map Kate thank you as well glad you're able to demonstrate differences appropriate and not appropriate distancing maybe that's the same my children but I'm recording I'm in trouble now but overall you know what we'll keep monitoring it and then you'll notice in today's update I did put a couple of maps of the state of New I'm sure one from September 2nd which showed where the state was as a hole-in-one from just last week Thursday which showed where the state was as a whole and you know we better keep our eye on that because it is change drastically from September to October 14th and that is what that is what keeps me awake at night quite frankly just seeing how that has changed in a matter six weeks so we still continue to be favorable that's good we should rejoice and we should continue to be safe continue to practice the big war continue to do our part and continue to make good to see Asians that are based on science and that will keep our students and our staff safe so that we can maintain on-site learning for as long as possible and whatever that looks like you know and I know we want the moon but x / makes us be able to maintain that a little bit longer as well and that is all I have for you tonight Melody just text making you letter in just trying to get in I just got that pop up dare you to adjourn yep so that's all I have point-in-time minnow happy to answer any questions that you may have I do want to say thank you to the Harrisville School Board I had you guys I've been incredibly supportive not only not only of the central office but more importantly of do the school itself I mean it's it's just so noticeable how supportive you are of your principal in your staff and your students and it's really nice to see not usual times but very usual support from Harrisville School Board Matt's awesome so thank you guys for everything that you do we really do appreciate that alright thanks any Dover school board so you now we're having a compensation can be a strawberry another one on Friday for the four chairs and we're working on a contract for the SAU staff so I'll keep you posted on Hangouts got it usually goes pretty quickly and then we have the same boards go down everything three times with different levels and then about 94 lever board ask about the same people voting Johnson it'll I will get there pretty as I do have another meeting schedule after this one is supposed to be the wrap up on right now I think this is the last one I don't see where is on the horizon but it doesn't mean that the chair will comfortable what are we asking 20% 12 absolutely numb so I think I'll let you know how that turns out so that's how it's right that board members I was just going to say we've had that discussion with the hea but I'm one step behind because when I came and I saw the email from him but I haven't read it I'm not going to lose myself and my computer I'm just I think that they've accepted the offer that Nancy's made sorry sorry I think that's all otherwise it but nothing else future agendas and then the other thing is non-public correct yes so let me start by stopping the share well looks like Scott has something and Daddy have how does guy. Thank you thank you guys guys I'm so tired smoking to the board about policy jfab the tuition and looking into verbiage on it so I looked at some of the other districts and offer a private tuition and have the regulatory straight like we just said that a moment ago and basically the easiest one that I've seen and they actually took your private page labeled it private pay tuition and then they made a sister policy like one number let her off and named it District out-of-district tuition and they just change the parent or Guardian to District or whatever in Tempe text a pulsing had the two different prices and they use the exact same policy just change the set of parent or Guardian paying if the district thing that seems like the simplest method okay do you want to can you guys write that off and then we'll talk about vote on it next weekend or next month and then move on to not be set at work or did you want the policy committee group when they meet next week to take a look at it love you guys too guy that's on you you guys want to do it you can have the letters again jfab decade you guys are decided I'm fine what do you want to do we can do that great thanks all right what's out there besides non-public alright so we need to make a motion to go in the non-public I'm shaking.
