good great I'm going to go ahead and call this meeting of the Chesterfield School Board to order at 5:39 p.m. thank you all for being here I will start right with agenda item acceptance of cpsf Grant I'd like emotion so we can go into discussion on that for any questions from our principal I'm willing to accept the Grant from the Chesterfield Public School Foundation I second it Auntie discussion Sharon of would you like to give a brief overview and I reminded everyone through email earlier today it's very much representative of the postal that came through with regards to how we would facilitate outdoor classrooms and learning and Sharon was able to attend the last CPS staff meeting where a lot of the decision-making for donations and grants where's Mesa but she's best able to speak to that cement turn that over to you Sharon yep and I am trying on my computer to get back to come up so give me just a second I think we are having some internet issues in Chesterfield there was some national issues yesterday for anybody that was thanks to the storm down south a lot of companies and corporations that generate a lot of work out of their corporate headquarters if you're working over the weekend you could not access anything so okay I'm coming here so here we go so the Chesterfield Public School Foundation gave us a ver considerable gift and I'm going to pull it up so the 1st big chunk of money is going to go towards 10th and they are purchasing the 10 so that they will have them for future use whether it be Graduation Services or other items to go along with that and I apologize disc is not working well at all and I'll throw out there what little I also know and can add the tents will also be installed for us professionally by the company and they will also come and take them down at the appropriate I'm on so that's really helpful for us and Sharon's worked with fire safety etcetera to make sure that we have everything in place as far as those kind of safety on Logistics go when it comes to that stuff I could just so that you know I know that the fire chief was here today walking around campus with some of the members of the board so they were looking at some of the locations because the backfield will be off due to the leach field but I do have the exact numbers now for you so it's approximately $57,000 for tents and that will be a combination of rentals and purchasing then just $10,000 to purchase 40 Chromebook with headsets $3,000 for supplies for the nurse another $3,000 for some storage units that will cover the cost of delivery pick up fee and monthly rental fee they like to give me $5,000 and a non budgeted related account I will work with two members of the board I'm as things come up we can pull from that 5,000 and then they also have purchased another it's either 20 or 30 laptop in a value of about 10500 which they want to provide to students and families in need so that doesn't really mean that family would get a Chromebook and a laptop we discussed that Becky be a contact person for families who would need a computer at home Sharon that roughly totals about about 88 5 is that right I don't have a total on the sheet that I'm looking it up I think Dad an important piece normally we get a grant application and I know the timeliness of this and all of the there's a lot going on so I just got robbed and ghetto Rob did get a print form from them that's great I think it's really important for the board to know what we're proving in monetary we've talked about this over the last couple of years when we're getting donations and grants it's really important. have that accurate information for the approvals we do have I'd like to go ahead and ask the board if they have any questions right now for Sharon or anybody else on the panel that may have them Nation for us I just think that's very generous and I I just would like to express my appreciation to the post. H and for offering that money thanks Janine I also see someone on the attendee list with a hand up superintendent Malay do you want to see if Michael Harvey would like to speak hi Mike can you hear me we can how are you this evening just peachy so I just wanted to reiterate a little bit what we've done is authorized $57,000 and that you got was a provider that's one thing the dishes that we've authorized $10,000 to Sharon to buy Chromebooks I think 40 the number based on the current price and walk with earphones B license tribute it's only have $3,000 for the nursing requirements for safety things and she wanted me to crash cards and things along those lines and $3,000 storage units and authorized 5000 Sharon spend on image not budgeted pandemic Hispanics so that's what we're doing I don't know where the 10th plan is entirely I don't know what I bought some of the considerations down and lonely feeling things like on those lines in fact she is the way that we've chosen do this since then we're going to rest a couple of the chance but the majority of the cats are going to be purchased and so we're taking it with where were the early preschool to plan in a reasonable fashion and so what was hoping is that content plans is right and it's best you can do with the app work using outdoor facilities to allow you to open up yeah and I think that's what's important was he said you guys finished projects we don't intend to tell you what to do we only provide funding for what you think is important to do with them what we do I guess that's what all I had to say tonight I want to make sure that the board is aware that Mike Harvey is the chair of the cpsf and so he's able to bring us a little bit of that perspective from the CPS f beating that took place we aren't necessarily doing public input tonight but Mike is an integral part of this grant so we're having him speak to the details and if there is anyone on the board that needs that info any information from Mike now would be a good time to get it otherwise we'll anything for Sharon or any further discussion from the board looking at the microphones Nick you just went off new but now you're muted again hearing no further discussion we have a motion on the floor is everyone amenable to taking a roll call. now to accept DCPS F Grant yes they do you want to have a total for that I have a total of 88500 from what was lifted erect Malay do you have anything different written on the application to be to be fair those post documents came in a flurry of other emails over the last day or so and I have not scrub through that I will trust that your calculations sounds about right I started tracking that at the same time and I think you've got the total correct and our our motion is too was simply too the cpsf grant do we want Clarity on that to include the dollar amount or does the grant itself speak to the details well I think we've had this discussion before with other grants and awards that have come in and I think that if we do anything or if we've learned anything that it would be wise for us to connect the total value to the motion so good idea with B for Janine to amend the motion to include the total amount of $88,500 I had a notion to include the total amount $88,500 and a motion to approve that amount and Amy are you still seconding I am okay any further just superintendent Malay would you hold roll call please call TC Nick belsky Aaron Laskowski motion carries five 0 thank you mr. Harvey I'm going to go ahead and return you to mute so that board can continue with their business we really appreciate the assistance from Chesterfield Public School Foundation supports with a approved in the comprehensive plan in encouraging and supporting Outdoor Learning opportunities as much as possible that your assistants have made that become more of a reality for the students at Chesterfield school so thank you congratulate is Chesterfield school this is exciting times for sure. Thank you thank you yes definitely there was another grant that you are a donation that you just received that you want to bring forward the board yes we received a check in the mail from a Daniel wrath and Louise wrath for $300 I can read the note that came along with it I plan to make a donation again to help students cover lunches but in these times it makes more sense for you to decide how this money is most needed please do so and continue to do all the great things to do for your staff and our children so again you know I would like to honor their request to do school lunches is needed and if some covid materials such as masks are needed for needy families I'd like to use that money for that as well I'd like a motion for that donation I'll make a note of that donation okay any questions discussion so just in case just for our stenographer Jackie the motion was to accept the donation of $300 so that the minutes reflect that someone spell the last name their the names of the people who got I got Danielle and Lee wraps or something it's Louise r s r a t h thank you thank you we ready for a roast okay superintendent Malaysia Super ready hi Janine Hawkins Smith Nick bielski I mean Laskowski x50 thank you to mr. and mrs. Ralph for the fact that considered donation greatly a initiated and I'm sure that the money will be put to good use by the Chesterfield school on behalf of the students thank you yes very much so that their continued support it's what makes Chesterfield Starfield cell thank you Sharon do you have anything else from that Financial perspective that the Board needs to approve right now or we good mother and seeing at this moment is there any other public business for the board this evening because we do have several non Publix to address yeah select cpsf for the extremely generous donation and the rafts for Their donation I'd also like to thank all the volunteers here working building the new Pavilion and also volunteers who've been doing mowing on the property getting ready for school thank you for reminding us Nick that a lot of that's been ongoing and you know we're all very wrapped up in the reopening the therapy that have been maintaining throughout the entire summer making sure that we're ready at a moment's notice so thank you for reminding us and recognizing you're on mute thank you, you know School reopening is kind of been a hot potato I'm looking for guidance from the state and get much the SAU thought they could plus you know with remote and wound up if that didn't work out and you know the potatoes fall in the lap of our Administration our staff who have really hustled these last couple weeks and put together a great plan and you know people taken what time the summer put a lot of effort into this we as board preciate that we sighted thank you thanks again anyone else before for other before we do move make a motion to move into non-public okay the printer so just to be clear with regard to the remote option that you know the UPS has done a tremendous job of making that a reality for the families that wanted to choose the remote only option for the students of Chesterfield school we have found a solution for the 6th 7th and 8th grade student specifically and end for the k-25 students a little bit later I'm so weak I've been working just as hard as everyone else to make sure that those realities do happen and are working across multiple districts so that we're not crippling any one individual District in providing that support in that that capability cross the district so I just wanted to let you know that go in that does very fair of you to say that you know that you are helping out with high school in the middle school and we appreciate that thank you as well as the k-25 to buy no solution for your students who want to be remote only k-25 assistant superintendent Campbell has been very instrumental in working with the three K-8 schools particularly Marlboro Chesterfield in West Berlin to find those Solutions and you know I want to commend him in the efforts that is taking under way along with the three-building administrators of those particular schools to make sure that we are accounting for all of our students the only other thing that I did want to mention while we are still in public session and it went out today stop date and you know board members you got that ahead of time before the update is the change in the stay-at-home requirements for the comprehensive plan as you might be aware of our state epidemiologist neurologist has finalized what the stay-at-home requirements should look like if there is a symptom only present in our initial plan we were following the guidance from the CDC and now that the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has released their official position as of Friday they released their documentation in a return to school to get those guidelines have been David we will continue to communicate with that is if you have a symptom of a new or unexplained symptom that that is present and what that means in terms of your participation when you are on site I just wanted to make that known because it came out on Friday we updated the comprehensive plan today we sent that out and update today we even did a little video to show that as well and I just wanted why we have an opportune give me up again to make sure that everyone is aware that that particular process and that particular step has been updated to reflect the most current guidance from our state health officials thanks for that update Rob I like you I've been getting a lot of email so that I didn't get to go through all of the report out that came in today but I knew that there was a movement towards the public health state shifting from the CDC slightly so I'm appreciative of that I think New Hampshire always holds itself in a pretty high regard with taking what the feds offer us and then making it a little more rigorous you see that a lot in education so I do like the plan that they put forward finally yay much appreciated to give us that verbal update though we don't always have time to read the updates as well okay any other from our board members please or Sharon and get it for public hearing iterate what the kids said earlier thank the Chesterfield Public School foundation for their endless support for our students and staff here at the school you notice to participate in that meeting and just hear the full support to stay through behind us was incredible and it itches grateful to it thanks again for putting that in there for the minutes for sure and I know it will have some big thank yous coming through lots of outdoor a thank you so it now okay looking at everyone's speakers I see everyone is still on you I'm going to assume that means there's no other input where are public portion of the meeting we do again have several non Publix to discuss it would be great to see emotion Toledo public and going to non-public please I move that we go to non-public Shopkins roll call so just to be specific the purpose of going into find public is to discuss student and staff Personnel so that we are very clear why we're going into non-public and with that I'll go ahead and ask everyone whether you will agree to go in the non-public or not so it's simple yes or I will do a good Cordell yes hockensmith yes yes Aaron Laskowski so shortly before this meeting began I sent you all a Google meet link and that is where we will go to conduct our non-public which means you have to close out your Zoom meeting I will keep this little meeting open on my end I will stop the recording and when we come out of non-public will return to the zoom meeting as well so that way we're not disclosing anything in public setting that's why the separate meeting was set up the non-public portion so as soon as everybody is off of the zoom meeting will go ahead and join you on me Google meet but you can go ahead and get started there okay thank you all right we are now back okay we are now back from our non-public session we are having a little bit of difficulty with some of the numbers getting back over from the non-public to the public session and with that I will go ahead and end the meeting over to the most senior sitting board member who happens to be a me treat or next I think it's time to adjourn this
