the first item on our agenda is to approve the minutes from our October 28th 2019 meeting hopefully folks had an opportunity to review that and I would love to get a motion to go ahead and approve those minutes the move George Downing thank you George second would be very welcome seconds Eric Moran thank you Eric and Jen can I ask you to facilitate the road call Flores need a new flag yes I miss Cordell I was not in attendance silvo yes okay yes I wasn't there but I'll hook for the minutes thank you Miss gargan I want to David outfits for the minutes miss miss yes mr. Miller yes mr. Marine yes mr. popovic alright motion carries thank you very much now typically this meeting is being held we typically hold this meeting in the middle school and no as the host of our spring meeting we tend to allow the principal of that school to kick us off with updates and a provider information for the committee and to be available for any questions that may come up so Deanna if you want I have given you screen sharing capabilities I was not prepared for that to let me get my annual report which is also in the folder so just one moment let me pull that up thank you for your patience while I'm waiting for this to come up I just want to start before going into this is on you're all aware we're dealing with a great deal of unprecedented times and and challenges that I just want to say that the staff at King Middle School has met every the challenges and exceeded the work that they have done is engaging and thoughtful and I also would like to extend a thank you to our entire School Community we are not doing this alone and I'm sure Jan will Echo those sentiments as well we feel I feel very lucky to be a part of this greater School Community right now we've done a lot of relying on each other for information and construction just wanted to say thank you to this community and make sure that the staff of Keene Middle School is recognized have been extraordinary and our custodian have been incredible they have helped a great deal to thank you to them I'm going to share my screen and in doing so I will no longer be able to see all of you and so if you have a question you can call and people who have questions cuz I won't be able to see them or if we should wait until the end sometimes you do it both ways not sure what would be better in this setting and allow you to get through your presentation otherwise do you know it might get too chaotic so I have never shared my screen in a zoom meeting before cuz we use Google meet I'm can everybody see the the document entitled annual area spring meeting yep great thank you so I'm just going to start with the enrollment and you'll see it our enrollment overall is at 37 students from this same time last year. It is projected to remain about the same. Jarrett and then decreased slightly over time and then plateau and several years from now those are projections on we were not projected to be at 7:46 at this time last year so things always change over the course of time but at this time we 37 students larger than we were last year and sixth grade we have an additional twelve students 7th grade you are an 8th grade up 31 about traveling class is quite large that we are graduating this in regards to our towns we have nine students from Harrisville up to 16 students from Marlow up 5:13 students from Nelson up to 54 students from Stoddard which is up 14 previous year 21 students in attendance at 2 and 41 students from story witches of 9 again those that population in the all six of those towns is looking to fight me and then Plateau as I'm sure you know within a population of your own community Chester teachers and subjects have not changed since we met in October there have been no changes to that there will be changes next year I'm Shuffling and we have a little bit of hiring to do so in October you'll see some alterations he's out but not many for next year at this time can I when we move into the narrative component of the report if mirror what you saw in October with some updated information this all is based on leading up until we went to remote learning in the middle of March but then I've also added a little bit regarding how we have continued to do this work through remote learning I'm if we with curriculum we remained focused on differentiation throughout the 1819 school year and the 1920 school year in preparation for move to competencies so that we have a grasp on what a truly differentiated classroom feels like we've moved your full inclusion model in our 6th grade which has been a great success we've learned a lot through that and are continuing to do work with coaching and training around co-teaching with the hope of moving a trout all three of our grade the one major thing that we focused on with differentiation this year is that we moved Beyond content we stayed focus on differentiation of content but added the social emotional components and I feel very thankful that we did that fire to remote learning now knowing how important it is to meet our students social emotional needs during this time as in all time but really connecting and capture that and so we did a lot of study with high five and with Mike Anderson's text around emotional learning and how we interact with students the language that we used internally the created units that focused on this and added elements to our content-rich component or content areas and then outside internal last summer some of our Quest reported high five which is an organization that works in all three of our levels of schools it in Keene and they do on edge of leadership and social emotional learning team building leadership building cyber clusters to create not only one unit around social emotional learning but also a framework to integrate social emotional learning and Leadership skills into all content areas that would start this year and I hope it's a continue to develop that throughout this. turn into next year interesting me and wonderfully enough when we moved to remote learning our differentiation work continued on and you can see this through some of the work with hi-five hi-five is an integrating into classes and lessons we were still book end-of-year event we've done journaling regarding reactions to current situation both content and emotional response you had some great visual art studies and our integration technology has enhanced and I feel like we can use that to continue to support our diff in the future we remain committed to our work with keys to literacy this is now extended to rk5 sending schools end into the high school we work now to create coaches Within school to continue this work and to ensure that we have this work for many years to come in in the middle school has used he's illiteracy structures and from many years this isn't new to us but now we're moving into having our staff become coaches and trains have several already we really focus on writing this year and I'm busy shower door Reading Writing specialist have been hugely imperative in that work cuz I had shared in the fall we as a whole staff read the book what we say and how we say it matters if you have the opportunity to read it at the it's a quick read and wonderfully written really talks about how we speak with each other not just Baptist student that statue staff and student to student if we began this work as you heard in the fall with r i l t or instructional leadership team reading internally and then was popping between when we met in the fall and now is that alright I'll tear and every single one of our staff meeting started with a small TLC led by a member of our instructional leadership team with questions crafted through a study guide that was shared with us by ascd about this book explored our own thoughts around the text we agreed we disagreed we had a great conversation around it and then we and the whole staff read the entire book and crafted a personal goal and a team goal associated with it from Matt weekend progress we talked about was working all this challenging ideally we were going to continue to do this work with Mike Anderson for the end of this year that has been paused on due to remote learning and so we're going to continue to embed this in our discussions throughout the 2021 school year the great book and a highly recommended it has changed the way that we use some of our language here very them especially the competency work that I discussed in the fall We are continuing to keep an eye on knowing that we are continuing to move down that path once it's important to note is that staff were preparing for the March were shot dead in which Brian Campbell was going to lead us in conversations regarding formative assessment and a foundation for company in education and so our staff watch call videos and read multiple articles prior to moving to remote learning and that was supposed to occur I believe it was the second weekend remote learning and we do not have that works. Day and so that's that has been paused the hope that we will continue that discussion next year but are is prepared for it as read many articles has what have watch these videos until we're ready for that work and excited to continue down that path. Unfortunately this list of assembly does usually much longer it's usually twice to three times as long as many of our important assemblies and end-of-year events happened from March to the end of the year and so we leave unfortunately Miss many of those other work trying to replicate online as much as possible questions are still having cluster why meeting there is still celebration that are occurring we are in finalization plans for 8th grade celebration and will be emailing family by the end of this week regarding that's going to look like our 8th graders must be celebrated they work incredibly hard and we look forward to honoring the work that they've done and finding ways to support all of them one thing that I was not in the October note that we had at school again this year and he had it two years ago as well for Grant through Keene State College is a group called The improbable players that, they also went to Banana I cannot speak highly enough of them they come and they do work around addiction both in family and student and we presented the 7th grade if it is a small theater group that comes in and very thoughtfully a has small skip that they put on for the set for the students and staff and then there's a tie the entire event takes about an hour and 15 an hour and a half and it's been really powerful to watch our students process through as they've experienced that and there's a lot of work that goes into before after that as well with her school counselor but I would highly recommend checking out their website they do exceptional work and I feel very lucky that we've been able to have them twice now over three years I'm through to Grant in regards to our scenes as I stated in the fall or theme this year was based around Mike Anderson's text and we have a different theme every single month we are going to continue with these themes again next year we weren't able to see that Ark come to fruition even though I still do Monday messages but your little videos that get uploaded like a cheetah 3-minute video on these themes but I really feel like we need to continue our our work that was so strong at the beginning of this year around the same continuum that section of Abyss report hasn't changed much since the ball because we're continuing this works right next to your butt is really important to our culture here at the middle school incoming parent night is another event that we were unable to hold it was coming up did you know we have an evening in which our town of families and students and Commander Keen family students can come in that was paused and we know that this is very concerning to families and students and so what we're going to do I create a video of score of the Middle School ever going to share with all of our incoming student ideally that will be out in early June and it will go throughout the building show various areas and as if they were students coming in that front door and seeing what they were experience in addition to that the next step is really depending on what happens in our community in the upcoming months in regards to building being open to the public but we've had many families inquire about being able to come in and tore the school is Ashley our families that are either need of the region or haven't been able to have access to the school previously we would like to be able to create an opportunity for them to come in with a very structured schedule worlds one family to sign all the CDC protocols we are waiting for further guidance before we schedule any of those families to come in and see the building and we've added the spot infection to the notes about remote learning for this year and I just wanted to get some highlights regarding what key middle school has done as I said earlier our staff has been exceptional they've been positive creative and thoughtful throughout the whole process this is a challenge this was a challenge for everyone and I am very impressed with our entire community and how we've come together for this we worked collaboratively to create Implement online instruction it's engaging teachers have online meetings with students throughout the week and in addition to the required Google meets in which instruction is given they're also out there's also a regular extra time in which students are meeting with teachers one-on-one and small-group and so this is both students that maybe have that accommodation or modification defined in an IEP or 504 or it's just didn't need that time right now in RR Falconer School counselor meeting with students in various formats online to ensure that students are getting their their needs who counters are meeting with students and families throughout to support them with the social emotional needs and attendance attendance has been something that we to work through throughout this remote learning process in addition to the great work or school counselors have done our sau29 truancy officer officer Bill Gaither on his work very collaboratively with us he is completed Wellness checks if we haven't heard for some students and Families Guardians about how we can support relate information back to us and has been a great bridge between us and some of our families during this time in regards to our team meetings which is are clusters and then music Allied Arts PE and health We are continuing to have our daily and weekly team meetings we're ensuring consistency with curriculum so that classroom still feeling the same across all of this means have a curfew Google meetings we haven't had any interest in meeting Department coordinator in Dubai I've continued to recover virtual virtual leasing is 1 a month and those have continued which is allowed us to continue our conversation there on differentiation that have been just stopping has been really helpful and it also allows us to celebrate and honor the people arguing and I think that's really important during this time that we have faces that some of our students do not have access to the internet and although some local providers provided some free access their stuff. Rincon Latino with that don't have access to the internet and so we have been providing paper copies to students of the curriculum and Matt is getting delivered via bus every Tuesday or parents are going to pick up in our entryway and that is okay but how to deliver every Tuesday to for families that are unable to transport materials I'm to and from and First Student Bus Company when working with has been wonderful and Incredibly flexible images not some wonderful things have happened is that we'd really noticed that students and families are spending a lot of time on the screen and so the eighth grade are the South led by Marian laboratory who runs on one of our small groups inside that the car is called I need it on Ur some of our staff came up with the idea of combining games and activities for families that they can out kind of like a book and those games and activities would be delivered via bus for family engagement away from screens and so participated in mad and we gathered materials and we order things online and families were able to check those materials out and it was highly successful required families and students to be away from there we found that's incredibly helpful we are currently deciding the different activities that we can do that with a line with what would be our typical Field Day fun days and the Day Celebrations we don't want students to lose the opportunities some of those things are coming up with what that will look like and to ensure that it's in a safe environment if we say go outside and do something that there's lots of conversation instruction around how to do that same place other than the CDC guidelines around that continued community building and I'm access to some of those end-of-year celebrations that we cannot do in person we have begun the discussion around heading into next year we're going to assess what are students what they've learned and how they've grown at the beginning of next year there's been a lot of change for a students and we need to know when they come into us what skills are they have incredibly solid and what skills I need to continue to work on so we have begun the discussion around what early assessment might be important for us to do and how we can plan curriculum and alter any scope and sequence as needed and we want to be very thoughtful of where our students are coming I'm going to require a lot of talk with each other and a lot of work with our students going to look like our final determinations regarding summer school and PSY have not occurred and that is coming up we are having conversations around that because we know we need to make plans on end so I know the governor sununu just provided some recent recommendation that we're looking at that and we'll make some decisions within the upcoming weeks at which point we can then move forward with letting families know with the expectation for summer school or extended school year will be we have two upcoming events I usually come to towns and do a meeting with School Board in which I share the annual report how did the more in-depth report based just on the students in your phone and so I will be getting out the paper copies of those in the next few weeks ideally I will get them to you next week but definitely by the weekend we will have that in-depth knowledge you're heading school board meetings and and you would like me to attend to discuss anything that's not report please let me know and I can schedule that and then we are going to do an achievement a celebration on June 12th in Christian will be disseminated to families think so either tomorrow night or Friday we need to have them finalizing plans in place that include lots of little details and so we're very thankful to our eighth grade parents for their patience it's a hard time we want to make sure the thing we are honoring our eighth graders we're just finalizing those plans and we'll get it out this week I'm going to stop sharing because that is the end of that document and are there any of this early do I have to pay any questions you're on a roll Deanna don't stop now by there any questions or anything that is there any information I can gather from you if I don't have it present I can find it and get back to you so it's covered up by Green Screen Rob yes there's the book excellent well I think I think you must have been incredibly thorough because you're not getting the whole heap of questions so seeing that there aren't any then let's go ahead and kick it over to me Logan and if you need to share your screen Mister Logan you have that ability as well thanks Mister Malay I'll be sharing in just a minute I just mine report is not as thorough as Deanna's report is but I do have bunch of information to share with you our course request we were we were Full Speed Ahead until we went to remote learning with our course request students were in the process of being scheduled I'm in the school counselor still wonderful job. our students through that process we have a master schedule that is 99% built and we're on schedule to be sharing that with students in the next month so we're pleased with that is gone and can a lot of work I'm following up with students about their schedule to counselors like I said a working hard making the phone calls home remote learning I leave open channel to remote learning that is Malad police said we're real flying airplane as well I might I kind of say where you know building the road as we're driving on I don't like there but our teachers of also risen to the occasion it's it's a lot of work and there's a lot of communication take him right now about what is working what's not working and you know I'm am thankful for Robin Brian for everything they're doing with what this could look like when we start back up in September so it's got his challenges are big pieces is just sustaining it right you know I'd be lying if I said 100% of our students are totally into remote learning our teachers are poking and prodding and it just keep pushing on a long and you know I I I had a senior class meeting today we had over 300 students in a seminar today and I think that that was good for them to hear we were you know telling them to hang in there. Don't give up that we you know we want to get you where you need to be at I think that this is a learning process for everybody I know when I call home to talk to a teacher you know I hear children yelling and screaming in the background so they have their hands full then we call students and students are at home with four or five brothers and sisters that don't have the means that other families have so I believe that you know we roll processing what this looks like in that you know I'm really pleased with where it's going right now we're meeting with our staff from every other week we we don't call it a meeting is just a check in to see what we could do for the staff on what questions we can answer and then we have this running frequently answer question sheet so anything that goes on that that's to go to for our our staff but it's working out well testing instructional piece as you probably know her sat or school-wide sat event was postponed to the Fall by the state of New Hampshire our science assessments was postponed so the State Testing that didn't have an April like a typically does I'm are AP exams they change the whole format for that and we're in the process of finishing that up right now I'm in it seems to be going well some we we had art that was due yesterday and I know that Shannon Perry did an unbelievable amount of work to get those portfolios I'm uploaded in and have everything completed for the AP but it went well that again the school counselors are working with all those AP students and then as well as the teachers so is there there's been no big hiccups with any of that we're working at Staffing right now we're pretty fortunate where we're filling are vacancies which is nice some we have currently we have to sign additions we have one p Health position and we have two special ed positions that are on the teaching side of the house I'm and I'm confident that we're going to be where we need to be some light has been meeting with them and giving them Define approval as we move forward with that Mr Malayan Mister Campbell to talk a little bit about the administrative piece at the high school and the career center and then stopping at the career center around we're really fortunate that the the flower sales that was that was kind of a big debacle I guess you could say we didn't know this was happening and they deport a culture instructor ordered all these bulbs in tanning all the stuff goes along with it and it was too late to cancel the order when we went to remote learning I'm with that it was all brought in that we grew everything and because of covid-19 purchase flowers in our Greenhouse I'm so we were lucky that we partnered with the mr. Koontz from Koontz landscaping and he's taking all the flowers and he's working with the career center on selling all those flowers so we're really fortunate that everything's being sold with that summer curriculum Kelly but has been working with that with Dottie Frazier and Brian Campbell as well as well as the summer professional development I mean that's going to be I think it's going to be a I worked on with that over the summer just as Deanna was saying about where we're going to be in September and getting ready for that whole shift of where we're going to be the end of the year events I'm going to share my screen with you I'm at and I'll tell you a little bit about what I did with the with the seniors today so is it being shared yes I don't know what's going on here mr. Malay so if you hit the share I did that and my screen is not coming to the Forefront yeah right now it's coming you say it started screen sharing yep now we now we've got you okay communication that went out to our senior parents and and and seniors on Friday about our end-of-the-year activities a lot of work on this since it's everything is new everything that we're doing is no with this send a technology B find it is it is a huge concern and I'm thankful that you know the technology department is getting involved with this and we have some community members that are you know technically Savvy that can help us with this and it's it's a it's a work in progress right here. We met today with the seniors and went really well I had a lot of feedback from them are senior class Council talked a little bit or senior advisors thought I might really well from tonight at 8 the clock we're allowing students I don't know if you saw it or heard about it but the nhiaa New Hampshire interscholastic Athletic Association asked that we slide up our boards are on our fields from 8 to 8:20 and I think eight eight is 20 hundred hours in military time in 2020 is 8:20 to recognize the senior class that really didn't have an opportunity to participate in Spring Sports show even lighting up the every every Wednesday night tonight we have permission to let the teachers come onto the field to socially be socially distance and then follow proper CDC guidelines on the way to the stew send as they go around the track I told the students that that'll never happen again in my lifetime or probably their lifetime for whatever if you want to called fortunate or unfortunate we have to replace the track this summer so they're going to be tearing it up in the next couple so putting a car on the track is not is not really going to burn anything cuz it's getting torn up so that's going to start as soon as I got to go around the field and it will record the seniors last laugh and nothing you don't talk in the teachers through their windows and the scoreboard to be lit up everything will be in 2020 and everything the time will be 20 20 on the boards and adalind and then on June 8th is our attending educator and our top 10 typically we do what is an old school assembly we will be doing it as an all-school assembly again on that day on June 8th I mean we're working out to technology pieces right now we thought we had it worked out and that we came up with little glitch that's funny I just got an email from zoom and I I think we're going to be shifting gears but it's our it's our intent to be able to broadcast that you 1516 hundred people on the 8th tonight is our cap and gown Distribution on for seniors and we're working out a schedule with that right now you know it's as you look at this it's funny this whole domino effect it's happening with all of this stuff is going on caps and gowns you know Aldi's distribution warehouses are slowing down now because they're not man's like they were and it seems like we're where we have to call them constantly to make sure we're going to have our our stuff by June 5th we wanted on Friday June 5th so we can have it ready it's a big process getting students names on there and getting all their graduation regalia into a bag so they can pick it up on the 9th so I am I'm hoping everything's working I spoke to them today and they said they're saying everything is on track in our honor cords on that's another problem we've been guaranteed we're going to have him by the 5th and then work we're making up to recognize the seniors that are graduating we're having them create a custom tile we're going to give them a a template and they can put whatever they want on the tile still submit the temple back to us will review it just to make sure it's it's clean not that it wouldn't be and then we're going to send them all off and we're going to have 300 custom tiles made and we going to have a mural in one of the hallways in the school recognizing them for their efforts and then a graduation we're having magnetic sign that's made for them it's one of the mystical pieces is how we're going to know who's coming around the school in the car so we're having a magnetic sign that the students going to be able to keep its got the students name Scott you know what team high school graduate on in Skyrim Unforgettable unbelievable and Unleashed on there and it's got the King High School logo and then they're all getting a King High School face mask for the ceremony with the dirty birds can I still dirty bird that we use in our athletic events on the 9th on June 9th is our Baccalaureate I felt it was important give me a straight of team photo was important in our class Council thought it was important that we have some type of a baccalaureate ceremony Baccalaureate ceremony is a ceremony that's eclectic it's it's usually one churches in town and we had a church lined up a week because of what we're doing the social distancing we can't have that I'm so we're going to have a virtual ceremony I'm it's going to be taped and then we're going to show it on the 9th at 6 canesten eclectic bunch of students and so I think we're going to have four or five student speakers and just talk about their experience in high school and what they're going to be doing after high school and what can high school meant for them it's typically it's a beautiful ceremony I'm envisioning skin beautiful Ceremony this year it's just going to be a little bit different with how we deliver it and we will have the few students singing and we'll have a little music with that also that you know the music teachers are technically working out right now June 10th is our senior scholarship night typically that's when we give out probably just over $200,000 worth of scholarship money so that was a big piece of when you look at that event with what what year the the it's it's big it's 3 hours long typically and all the people that donate money to our seniors get up and they speak fortunately we couldn't do that this year and to have it taped and then mix it and things like that it was it was a little bit too much for a so the way we're going to do with this year we typically that's the Temptation only we're still only but don't students are going to receive a package at their house on prior to the 10th I'm going to be June 8th and 9th that they get a package delivered it's going to be like the the Golden Globes everything's going to be still going to be given to the students parents and then a senior scholarship night we're going to read off every student's name that's going to be receiving a scholarship so of if Glenn Adams is the first person on that list it this time we'd like to recognize Glenn Avenue receiving scholarships and we're going to read off the scholarships at that students received rather than have all the the scholarship donors come out we're going to be reading it that way and inside an envelope is going to be the scholarship award we're working out the details with that right now but we're confident that that's going to work out also I'm June 11th is going to be our special recognition night typically that's our special recognition and book awards night I'm book awards are historically for under text me so we're going to do that in the in the fall I'm going to run to class so we can recognize them in person hopefully is a school but it's going to run the same the same way as our seniors. The students will get a package delivered at home and then I'm at night so be called in an order and they'll be recognized for their recognition for whatever it is it could be Athletics it could be sign Samantha could be any academic area and it'll be the same way Chester Center Program complete or is that that was another big end of the year ceremony that we typically have their scholarships involved with death is completion certificate involved with so we're going to be mailing the completion certificates home with the honor cord the students wear an honor cord at graduation saying that they are CCC completer and it's going to be a letter in there with that just thanking them for their car Bush medicine and you know just explaining how unfortunate this is and then the CCC scholarship students will be recognized at the senior scholarship night and then the students that are going to be getting outstanding student awards or special recognition not be recognized at the June 11th special recognition night with the high school and I don't come Federal complete everything with with the the program recognition on June 12th we're going to have a virtual senior class meeting again that's going to talk about what we're going to be doing on the 13th for a commencement ceremony and we're also going to have a senior class meeting on the next Friday so we're going to have one every week now until we have our commencement ceremony so June 13th is a big one a lot of thought was put into this a lot of people got involved in it I'm Mister male was involved for senior class Council was involved local police department was involved in a local fire department was involved the city of Keene was involved a bunch of people got involved with it and at the end of all the conversations and surveys that we had the safest thing that we decided to do with the vehicle parade high school so family is going to be receiving an entry ticket into a parking lot on the side of the building and we're going to have to schedule what time they're going to be coming in they're going to drive around the back of the building and come around to the front of the building weather going to be recognized that The Graduate is going to get out of the car come up received their diploma jacket get back in the car with an I have a picture taken when they get up front in this is going to be streamed live and it's going to be recorded so they're going to be going around get out of the car get their jacket cover get back in the car and I got to go to another station that's about a hundred feet away and get their diploma which they typically do coming down off the stage on alumni then from there they're going to go to the next station which is going to be the project grad station it's unfortunate that we can't have a Project Graduation Ceremony like we typically do I spoke with them the other day and they're going to be doing some type of a gift a gift box graduate when they exit the parking lot and they're still working though details out in fact there's a survey going out to all the students for Project Graduation it's either going to be tonight or tomorrow morning so they're going to be going out and exiting the the parking lot and then it will just be rolling you know 300 students through the the loop I guess getting their diplomas a lot of work a lot of details have to be worked out with that yet but we wanted to be fun and we wanted to be faster for telling students to decorate their cars when we were talking that's funny when you start planning things like this you know your mind starts to take over wallpaper saying one car can come through what does that mean be a boss does that mean it could be a tractor trailer with a flatbed where they put 50 family have to work out but again we wanted to be fun we wanted to be safe and we wanted to be memorable for the students so that's our commitment ceremony completion ceremony about that for the for the Cheshire Center Stevenson in our senior tile mural and I talked about that a little bit and there's a lot of moving pieces right now so that's basically my my I do want to thank everyone is helping us with this the parents have been you know great a lot more good than bad emails I think that's a good thing I think there's more good post and bad posts on social media not that I do social media but it's what we believe is the safest at the end of the day I'm Cheshire TV and wkbk up and you know helpful with us through this process and we have to work on that it's going to happen we're going to interrupted you I just wanted to say thank you you've done a fabulous job and appreciate it thank you Felix Morales what I needed to say for both Jim and Deanna the efforts that the you have gone through to make this special for ya respectively the 8th graders in the 12th graders that's this is good stuff to finish up your time at a school when we can't get together and has done a lot to try and make it special for them and keep it safe at the same time and Jim this is probably the last public meeting most of us will have with you as Keen Prince I just want to thank for everything you've done for the Keene high school and the Kingsville Community for the last I can't even do the math because you were Career Center Director before you were principals with you and thank you for everything you've done is it doesn't get recognized a lot but it's tough for you to finish up your career in her remote atmosphere as well to not be able to say goodbye to these kids that use you brought through so thank you and and best of luck thank you I'd like to know that too I've known Rob for a long time and it really is wonderful you've done a wonderful job for everybody and thank you for all of your efforts thank you play Jimmy Wanna Stop sharing your screen I thought I did I had some having technical issues here most of my life it's my computer's like bogging down on me so we can see what you have on your desktop now and you know we're all taking notes this thing right here right I don't know but unless there's an objection there you know I would like to also reiterate with a couple of already said and say thank you especially Deanna for always being a part of these meetings is area meetings for your support to all of our sending towns whether it's you know on sight in person or on the Fly building the plane or Paving with while you're driving down it whatever the case might be you've been very responsive very supportive to our community East to our students to your style talk to our families and unless anyone objected love to be able to let these two go ahead and take off and head on home and recharge the engines for another phone that you hit tomorrow cuz you good morning alright see you too thank you thank you everyone so if I go back and I double checked our agenda don't have left on the agenda but I would like to just leave it open in case anyone had questions or comments or or anything that you wanted to be brought up at this point in time I do how to go on record with everyone that I didn't and say that I am really extremely proud of being able to stay the course and provide 180 days of school when the pressures in The Temptations to follow suit in surrounding districts and communities was growing large and and then the pressure was mounting there is no just application that I could come up with given the circumstances that remote learning has dealt us where we are already short changing our time with students to a large extent to further exacerbate. Men show the difference that being that with the decision regarding April break I went out and I surveyed everyone and I just could not conscience get behind something that I philosophically just could not back by shortchanging our students and while there was a little bit of noise and a little bit of Prayer share and then some groups were pushing for us to switch from days to hours we stood true and folks planned and here we are a little over two weeks away from completing we've got 12 days left in the school year the high school will technically be done the formal part of their programming next week Friday with the retakes in the reassessment like they would have during finals that second week of June and everyone will be through on June 12th I'm sorry I do want to go on record as saying that I am really proud of our commitment to our students to not shortchange down because it's tough and and we know that it's tough and just because it's tough doesn't mean that we have to go and give up and end our staff have not given up our our teachers are counselors are principles are where's our tutors they're not quitting they're not giving up and they're trying to see this through all the way to the end and I'm really really proud of that effort I think that's something that we should embrace and and celebrate as as Dino District leaders because it does speak volumes where other said a look this is hard and it's not as meaningful so let's just pull the plug and call it a day I mean that would be the easy thing to do and in most people wouldn't second-guess it however we didn't we stayed true and and we are finishing off what we started and I think that that speaks louder than any other action that has happened a very very proud of our schools are teachers are admin and are supportive boards for also standing behind that decision cuz it would have been really easy to say hey look I'm during a lot of event put about a we should get in the school year early why don't we just go ahead and do it although there are other implications would that type of a decision some of them being Financial some of them being contractual this was really a student-centered decision and it never got to the conversations that the other implications would have brought into the conversation we kept it at the most basic and most important in my opinion most important and that being up the value for our students so I do want to I do want to recognize that because I think it's important that that we do as as a group say you know what it wasn't easy but we and we're going to get there you know you get the daily update we've got this absolutely got this that's my story and I'm going to stick to it any other any other comments or input for the for the good of us all if not then I'm going to go ahead and close this meeting I'm going to tell my computer and I'm going to walk my my sorry rear end all the way home have a great afternoon evening thank you bye-bye
