Professional Development

SAU 29 gets its definition for professional development from Learning Forward. It states, “The term professional  development means activities are an integral part of school, (district, and SAU) strategies for providing educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to enable students to succeed in a well-rounded education, meet challenging academic standards; and are sustained, intensive, job-embedded, data-driven, and classroom-focused.” The focus of a school district is its students; while the mission of a district is to increase student learning and student growth. The mission of SAU 29 schools is to provide each child with the opportunity to participate in challenging, productive, and relevant learning activities which promote individual growth and skills development that will enhance the likelihood of each student leading a productive and fulfilling role in our society.
