McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Services

McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Services in SAU 29

At SAU 29, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every student, regardless of their living situation, has uninterrupted access to a quality education. Our McKinney-Vento (MV) Services are specifically designed to support students and families experiencing homelessness, providing the vital resources and protections needed to minimize disruptions to learning.
We understand that housing instability can present significant challenges to a student's academic progress and well-being. Our dedicated MV Liaison works to remove barriers to school enrollment and attendance, ensuring that students experiencing homelessness can continue their education without delay. Our goal is to provide stability and support, empowering these students to remain in school and succeed.

The McKinney-Vento Act broadly defines homelessness as lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This includes diverse situations like sharing housing due to hardship ("doubled-up"), living in motels/shelters, or residing in cars/public spaces. If your family, or you as an unaccompanied youth, are experiencing any form of housing instability, please know that help is available and you're not alone. Contact our SAU 29 McKinney-Vento Liaison directly for confidential support. Our priority is ensuring your child's educational stability and access to vital resources.
