Nelson School District Announces Principal/Curriculum Integration Specialist

Superintendent Robert Malay is pleased to announce that Kelsey Kilburn has been selected as the Principal/Curriculum Integration Specialist for Nelson Elementary School for school year 2019-2020. 

Ms. Kilburn holds a Master’s of Education – School Counseling from Keene State College. For the past three years, Ms. Kilburn has served as school counselor for the Monadnock Regional School District (Swanzey, NH). Prior to that time, she held the position of Integrated Student Services Advisor at Antioch University New England (Keene, NH) and as Graduate Advisor/Program Assistant at Keene State College. Ms. Kilburn’s background includes experience as a school counselor for Jaffrey-Rindge Cooperative School District (NH) and the Griswold Public Schools (CT). 

The Nelson School District is one of seven school districts that comprise SAU 29. The Nelson School is a small rural school featuring single and multi-grade classrooms with a current enrollment of 81 students from the towns of Nelson and Sullivan. The school building underwent an expansion in March 2018 in order to better suit the needs of the growing school community. 

Upon learning of her selection, Ms. Kilburn stated, “I am excited about the opportunity offered to me by the SAU 29 administration and the Nelson School Board. I am looking forward to joining the Nelson community as the school principal and working with the staff, students, parents, and community. It is my hope that together we will build on the successes of the past and collaborate to continue to move the school community forward.”
