Board Election Process:
There are nine members of the Keene Board of Education. Three seats are open each year for a three-year term. Anyone interested in running for the Board has to be a registered voter in Keene and not employed by any school districts in SAU #29 – Chesterfield, Harrisville, Keene, Marlborough, Marlow, Nelson or Westmoreland.
The filing period is in late January. The exact dates will be posted later this year. The election is held on the second Tuesday in March at the polls, which are open from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wards 1, 2 & 3 vote at the Keene Recreation Center, 312 Washington Street, and Wards 4 & 5 vote at the First Baptist Church, 105 Maple Avenue. Same day registration is available.
