Board Election Process:
There are nine members of the Keene Board of Education. Three seats are open each year for a three-year term. Anyone interested in running for the Board has to be a registered voter in Keene and not employed by any school district in SAU #29 – Chesterfield, Harrisville, Keene, Marlborough, Marlow, Nelson or Westmoreland. The only requirement is that a candidate be a registered Keene voter.
The filing period for board positions is January 25 - February 3, 2012. Interested persons may file in the superintendent’s office,193 Maple Avenue, Keene, NH, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m during the filing period. The election is set for March 13, 2012 at the polls, which are open from 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wards 1, 2 & 3 vote at the Keene Recreation Center, 312 Washington Street, and Wards 4 & 5 vote at the First Baptist Church, 105 Maple Avenue. Same day registration is available.
