recording will start soon I'm spinning Rob I'm not here on my end says it's only recording Scott now I'm just kidding we're good now you're supposed to go Madam chair all right so we can open the meeting at 4:02 what's the time that I have do you have looks good to me all right and the purpose of this meeting was to discuss do you want to take over that Rob so thank you very much for calling this emergency meeting as we as we talked about during the SAU meeting on Wednesday there is a opportunity for the Westmoreland School District to sign all them to the convent lawsuit regarding the funding for Education through an amicus brief what that essentially means and you you have had the document put into your drive for review and it's give a lengthy Breeze 2 review but we are signing on not as a financial contributor but as a district that agrees that the funding quit funding level from Spade are not suitable basically you are you're agreeing to becoming Friend of the Court in support more adequate funding coming from the sky Local District in order to be included it would require concurrence of the board a majority of the board YouTube Westmoreland in not in that Amicus brief in the meeting last week did you feel like there were any particular contributions that you would want to share like I know that you were at the meeting do you know I just feel like it's something that we should be so what I would say to that just real quickly and briefly is that the districts that have agreed have done so unanimously I'm sorry go ahead so what I would I would recommend doing and I'll read this for the official record actually what I should probably do Deb is so that you can see it as well is present and read this into the minute mischley okay all right so hopefully you can see the Amicus brief resolution that the draft or a sample brief that I don't think needs to be altered in any anyway but what what if the boards desired they could make a motion to set the resolution as presented in the Supreme Court in the conval school on behalf of the number of school districts across the state the board understands that this brief is being prepared without any cost to the school district that the filing of this brief does not commit the school district to anyone I'm going role in the compound case not a draft of the brief will be provided to the school district several weeks before the filing what are the desire of the Westmoreland to concur with that resolution then I would I would venture to say that perhaps a motion to support the resolution the Westmorland School District might be the way to go forward like to make a motion to support the resolution as stated or as Rob just presented to us message being off 2nd Heidi so do we need any discussion does anybody have any questions can we vote Savor this motion to support the resolution AI you got to do is call Mike Kevin being and we don't have Stewart right so we have a majority we're good all right do Walmart one month you have one non-public okay can we move to a non-public then you can remind want to make that motion I'll make a motion to move to non-public then we need a second I'll II mineral Co Kevin Mike yes Bean yes Mark call Mark doesn't get to vote on that yeah you're inviting him in All right so we're all here okay I'm going to stop the recording
