all right good that way in case there's anything that gets dropped I can send the recording to Janan and will be in the minutes and we'll have a real account of everything that transpired that was part of the plan looking at the agenda the first order of business is we need to elect a board chair so that's kind of a reminder support chair is responsible for a lot not just Priscilla tating the meeting there is a lot of or chair behind the scenes in the meeting working on setting the agenda Insurance in put items that need to go on the agenda doing a lot of the facilitating that may not be seen if you want to add anything to the responsibility for the board chair it was the attendance at the advisory committee made and then sometimes other things like the compensation committee meetings and some of those other those other SAU level things that the board chair represents the board this was kind of the Year where I was thinking maybe I hand the reins over to somebody else and and device so I just want to be sure you understand what you're what you're getting into and I'm hoping you might be inclined to unless unless Eric feels up a burning need and desire to touch his nose already I'll take it the board chair second all right me and there are no other nominations all in favor of Rich serving as a Nelson School Board chair please indicate by saying I when I call your name Kelly Eric by Rich there we go we have a chair mr. chair the meeting is yours and I would suggest that you would like the vice-chair now okay like to nominate a vice chair second okay see no other nominations call for the vote Eric I Kelly self I awesome mr. chair just to try to assist you with this transition the next order of business is the board reorganization which is included in Tights Drive are the dri for tonight's meeting I should say that's what I just trying to access right now here if anyone sees that anything needs to be amended maybe we just focus on that otherwise I might suggest that we just carry it forward until such a Time we might need to Amendment sorry Rob just I know let me see if I can everything's real slow on my end yeah I'm just trying to get over to my drive and it's yep I hear you want to let me see if I can do this I tried this earlier failed me so I'm hoping it works now can someone let me know if you can see my screen yet man I don't know what's going on with that feature today is that the percent feature yeah Eric and Rich I highly recommend you do a Speedtest and then call Fred solidated Communications and tell what you're getting for Speed I'm I'm on my second ticket this week There's Something funky and Nelson and unless we all report it they're having a hard time troubleshooting it I'm offline I'm offline cuz the guys at my house right now but they can't anything internal to my house they think it's somewhere in the Nelson Network and if people don't report it they're having a really hard time finding where were where the whole town is kind of okay what are you getting for speeds Kelly I'm down around to Mbps I'm getting to sleep on the broken watch they found a broken wire in the Box in the village yesterday okay but that wasn't it I don't see anything beyond Kelly and Rich swopper chair and vice-chair on the side effects advisory but everything else is full board and I would be okay with us giving that up later that sounds fine to me than Eric I'm I got this don't have this in front of me at the moment just for your reference Rich basically what it is is sort of reference to the chair and vice-chair are indicated on that list then the committee starting with advisory which has Kelly which would be replaced with your name area which is full board the Ed committee which is listed as full board the finance committee which is listed as full board the transportation liaison which is full board you're listed as the facilities person Eric's listed as a liaison to the PTO the Safety Committee is the full board you're listed as health and wellness and then the tech committee is listed for bored as well so it's okay for the time being it might not silly idea just to maintain that with the exception of you moving into the chair and Kelly into the vice chair and then you being moved on to the advisory for the SAQ okay that sounds is that make a need emotion it's probably best to do it that way so that way we'll reflect it so I would think that the motion would read to update the reorganization as discussed take care of that with j I make a motion new update that Arie organization as just discussed second turn on favor got to do a voice a roll call myself so that moves us to bills and manifest on the agenda Scott do you have a recommendation on the bills and manifest as far as approving them yes sir that's right but typically I know at a regular board meeting we have folks able to review them and I'm not sure that they've had the opportunity to review this have we sent out a electronic manifest okay last week and I sent an email alerting them that it was sent out to make sure that they noticed but yeah that's it was a standard bills there was nothing out of the ordinary world evidently septic bill that we had to deal with what was the septic issue when the tank was filled and we had to have it pumped out sit with me for a minute I got to grab a different laptop I think that might allow me to access these documents and data are going to be able to that sure I'll be back I'll be back in 1 minute thanks sorry about that thank you and our worries okay I got it thank you guys okay don't ever get a chance to look at those manifest that were sent out last week does anyone have any questions for Scott I don't know I haven't I haven't been able to get it open sorry do you feel comfortable going forward to proving it without having seen what's on Scott's recommendation if you if you guys look at it yet yes from what I could tell it looks pretty much business as usual probably the only abnormal things worth a plumber and a septic pumping those are the only two items that were known standard that I know okay so I need a motion to approve yes sir okay we doing a check the number and number checks and things like that what I would recommend what I would recommend is I to approve the bills and manifest as as documented and we'll get those get a second on that we got a second okay discussion alright so if we look at my screen that I'm presenting here we can see the only real change this is the interest continues to grow at a higher rate than we had anticipated so that is good news if we look at our expensive everything continues to be on the same path as mentioned last month we are projecting the same exact amount in the expense account which leads do a slightly larger surplus of $49,681 as last month's $49,428 I have also if I can get this to scroll down properly okay is there any questions I guess my question is more of a general one give me a text and can we expect anything out of the ordinary either in the Plus or the minus column because of you know obviously the current situation I would expect that some of our cost would decrease mainly the electricity we are doing more cleaning we're probably going to use less supplies overall baby you're not going to see a huge impact on the fact that we're not using as much paper right now because we buy in bulk but we'll be using less supplies right now we are going to be getting a reduce bill from Transportation as we are currently still paying them but at a decreased rate to account for the fact that they are not running regular route so when they're giving us a credit for that but running meals supplies other things that I request for all of the district's at this time so there will be several things yesterday that we should expect decreases and should add to our set I went home I don't have any questions about the finance report nope Kelly Kelly okay so to vote to accept Eric yes Rich the eyes have it next up is employee message review are we going to stick with that so I do believe this was originally put out there last month yes and so what we were doing was gurgling back just to close that business it is one of the policies usually visit every year and there were some Redline items in that policy that's in your drive that shows the update for consideration I got this the only significant change Thunder benefits number 3 the dental insurance went from naming Delta Dental to a more generic Dental Plan offered that way just keeps the boards actions open in the future and what was the change under bereavement 8/8 days so what if what had it been before are you dancing to have the original number there some kind of character is not really blind as it looks different so I'm wondering I'm trying to pull it up right now another version of Hannibal and see if there's any it actually says the exact same thing on the one that posted online how to change okay is this in line with lot of the other schools in the SAU do you have any questions no move to approve policy gdbd okay call and Sav Rich was I did you didn't okay so let's go back to but you on the agenda approval the minutes ever get a chance to look at them I'll make a motion to approve the minutes of March 6th I know you're second okay all in favor Eric Ellie Rich Rose eye passes okay we'll go Back Down 2 any other business so I would be I would love to hear update on the transportation contract negotiation progress all right so I can provide that we have received only two bits by the closing date they are in. We did receive a letter of non bid from sta the largest Nationwide company and they said unfortunately due to the call Red 19 situation in many schools canceling and some fight refusing to try to pay they've had a lot of issues at this time they cannot promise any resources to any new contracts and therefore would not be bidding the two smaller local companies chose not to bid first student did bid and I can't stand one from Massachusetts and starts with a case like what's I can't ever say it correctly also bid the current breakdown for Nelson before now this is just their bed not any going back and forth and trying to work with them with his first student bid was an 18% increase over the current year and the company that started with the K was closer to a 50% increase above it was more than double what for student quarters so that this time it is looking like first student will have the winning bid by a long shot we're very disappointed that the other three companies chose not to bid but I do believe it is because of the covid-19 and they are basically scrambling trying to assess their situation and not make any changes what's driving the 18% increase also for us with the 18% increase and was we have now a new range of buses the average age of the boss Fleet have to be between $5 and 5 years old can be older than we're going to have cameras now so there's going to be the GPS tracking so then if they're going to be late to say Eric's house he can tell before he sends his kid out that the bus going to be a half hour late so those little things along with I'm just the fact that they hired they renegotiated with a union that I think the average increase is going to be something like $4 per hour for every driver and I really think that's the biggest part of our increase is the they had now have the Union contract it is much Richard for the employees set this isn't written in stone yet but if we do go with them and how close do you think and you know typically is the bid to what final what a deal would be did it is there today move my or is it generally stay pretty close but not by much it shouldn't go higher Ridge than what they submitted right I just wonder if that Fitbit every no goes lower but probably know we're going to work on that try to get them to continue their best foot forward but I really think the largest determining factor is the new negotiated contract it's going to cost them a law so same number of buses same number of miles how did that how did Donald workout resume as they Define the roots and everything has roots that we provide to them again we're still working on the routes because we would like to try to reduce the ride time for the middle school and high school students we have not figured that out yet so we won't sign a contract until you got that all laying flat call me by the end of this month to sign a contract by the 30th of April so those routes will be done by the 30th of April then they need to be for us to to sign the contract yes do we get to review the the final plan I will provide that to you yes all the details we don't need to have a special board meeting we can just kind of do it the email sowa we should do is when we get that final plan of what it looks like is have another emergency meeting on this to Bodie there in support or get support of that final plan for your for your District how how long is the fair what's the length of the contract I believe it's 7 years again serves me correctly so do you administrators who have been dealing with this bus company and all of their issues for the last couple feel confident in this well I think what we've also were working into these contracts Eric are performance-based measures that offer penalties as well Rick Scott you are correct recourse going for words that we don't have now right we're as we did not contemplate that in contract passed we said hey look you know based on current situation they are going to be performance dings in case you're not meeting our expectation and standard and that should come back as relief to the taxpayers who are paying for this service and you're not meeting those expectations so you know we're a little bit more mindful about that given the current situation so I feel comfortable knowing that that is built into this process okay I'm sorry to answer your previous question school's out to the 20 20 26 27 year do we have an out if we needed it well I would have to look at the language in the contract but I mean there's no fast turn around and in the event that we needed that. yeah just kind of like what we do with tuition contracts there is no hey look we're upset with you we don't want to we don't want to send our kids are next year too bad you're on your own there has to be a Grace. To allow either company or the district sometime to find out how they're going to make that that work in their specific instance so it's not just a hey you guys are dropping the ball you're out tomorrow we can't but we're at least mine for recuperating costs and expenses with this process okay Scott were you trying to add something I was looking at it we have the two methods so there is a method that allows hours for us to pay a one-time annual fee of $2,000 and we don't have to worry about any increases in fuel costs or we can go with the current set up where we don't pay two dollars in a fuel prices go up our annual built above a certain set limit then the cost would go so we have both of those options for the board to review at a time when we get just about to put it to your ear is that mm get applied to the fuel cost so I guess I'm a little confused or is it just sorta like a FeFe it's a feat we paid him $2,000 in fuel costs go up add that to those with fuel cost and anything above that that's on them if the fuel cost don't go up there get a $2,000 basically some insurance before buying is that different from a previous contract yeah we didn't have that in our previous contract the Keene School District did we we've never had that so when we put this tell I had that big both ways for the board to look at I was really kind of curious to see how much they would put that in there for us as a cost it's basically you're buying an insurance policy fuel prices stay the same or go down they $2,000 a year for nothing but insurance if fuel prices go up and it saves you a lot of money or could save you a lot of money can we lock them in now well it's a dollar fifty a gallon Edwin Scott just real quick with that $2,000 is that a you have to make that decision at the beginning of the contractor can they make that decision on a year-to-year basis call Dad would be at the beginning of the contract cuz it two totally separate prices so if you look at the the overall price with the $2,000 she is actually slightly less than the price is a little bit lower if you don't do that because they are tied you know what I mean did they give you a little bit lower price with a $2,000 I said that backwards a little bit lower price with a $2,000 cuz they know that they got that coverage and if you don't want that in there the pricing is a little bit higher because they got more rest 7 mm also gives you gives you a little bit of a discounted rate over all this is something if we lock in twist at the end of April end of this month we have it for the entire every year $2,000 every year for the life of the contract every year 2000 and 2016 and 22 21 22 $122 in 22 23 every year but no action for the board at this point in time so as as we sort through what that's going to mean for every individual district will prepare something what it'll look like for Nelson and then we'll have an emergency meeting like this one to finalize app that sounds great okay anyone else have any other questions for Scott on the bus issue no I would just I guess I'd want to make sure that when you figure out what the new routes will be for the middle and high school that that isn't going to revolt you know dramatic changes in router what buses we have if we're getting locked and locked into the same no buses in I guess I am still pretty concerned that were able to figure that out in a way that prevents kids being on the bus for too long Rodger that what's up you got that concern from Eric yes yeah it's completely understandable of the week start working on it and is there any flexibility built-in especially in the first year the contract let's say to adjust things as unit out these plans on paper go into real world I I think I'm hearing a little bit of a Eric's concern that you know if we're agreeing to ask Sonata buses and now all the sudden and based on these routes that we plan out and then these roots Dome don't work well do is there any flexibility to sort of adjust that on the Fly so you're very is the flexibility to add and remove bosses as needed and the rates for adding those in and out we're also the same annual rates they would go up the same way would for the buses we already have okay Kelly's you have any more questions for Scott on this looking for see more detail alright okay other business I had expressed in an email earlier the wanting to talk about the hiring process that we're going to have that's going to change for the our staff positions in school I don't know if that's part of town public down below but I don't see it anywhere else on the agenda that's under recruitment help sorry right under my nose debit adjust General title I'm all set then with other do you have anything I don't know okay so moving on to new business let's go to that recruitment and hear what the planets so I'm remotely with the teachers with some of the teachers last week to start talking about Recruitment and what process has been in the and if there are any changes that they feel like after reflecting hiring process from last year that they would want so so far what we have determined is some criteria to have me go through the applicants and determine if they meet that those Baseline criteria to be able to move on to the committee taking a look at the applications as well on deciding who we would want to bring in for an interview I found the interview questions that were asked last year across the board for the classroom teacher positions and I am putting those out to the teachers to wheat and adjust there was some feedback about some questions are asked around and including some more scenario type question so we're going to just go to put that in as a Google doc that will use as a working document until we get some questions that we are comfortable with just asking that we should like well answer the questions that maybe we wish him an answer this year and that is about as far as we got now we talked a little bit about what that's going to look like remotely now that we're not going to most likely I will have somebody come in and teach a lesson that we could observe and we talked about some ways that we could do that virtually if if if we can we can return for the students if there is a way. maybe go into a morning meeting although that gets tricky with the amount of audience with the people who are there so where we're still sort of working through what that's going to look like and I'm also I brought it up in some of our principal meeting to kind of get some ideas of what others are doing other principles are doing for this so I can be as creative as possible was any discussion at the makeup of the committee we talked about having there be it's going to be pretty small as it is for at least the first round so we've talked about how maybe not everybody is included in that the first round but maybe for the second round we're bringing a large science together I'm talking about including community members as well maybe a meet-and-greet sort of situation but for now it's it's just been talk about that that not everybody might be involved at every step okay and we say the first round you mean after your base line sort of initial check a certification how much experience do they have yeah yeah so kind of review on paper looks like to talk to in person but you're saying you haven't gotten more specific then not as many as possibly in the past yeah yeah so I've pretty much just said I'm not exactly sure what this looks like for you guys in the past and let's reflect on what was Don and just know that you know it might not be a full team at every interview that we might have some different levels of maybe there's only two or three people in the initial interview and then if you bring somebody back for a sec I can pick her up and come see me some more people but yeah we haven't really look at who that will be and who that will include and schedule how is that what's what are we all thinking now cuz I know you express that we sort of run the early end and hoping to you know sort of move maybe before other schools so how is that going to how do you think that's shaken out so my plan is by Friday that those that are are in that initial phase well we always have all review the applicants that I've sort of moved forward that are complete and have certification meet the criteria and that we will then meet to determine who is I'd bring in for interviews okay so you already looking at applications yourself I think it looks okay we have a range of experience some internal some external round it was text opposite it just gives you the amount of applicants not necessarily who is completed it but we had 30 over 30 that had at least begin are you down for some that they not submitted so HR is going to be sending out the hey if you're really serious about this cuz your application and cuz we're starting to move forward email I think that went out today today or tomorrow hopefully get some of those others that maybe just logged in something that we some of the teachers to express is that some people may have started their application and then this is not the four friend isn't there priority right now so we wanted to be able to give you know a little bit of a reminder to say this isn't like normal times and we don't want to miss anybody because of endemic going on Kelsey can I answer you are intending to have you said community member Serta participate in a second-round is that what I heard you say medium I can meet and greet but but it's it sounds like what has been done in the past is that there's been a parent that's been part of the interview committee maybe around the SEC so you know we talked about that being a valuable stop being valuable input and wanted to continue that but not sure at what which level yet and then do we open it up as well to hear what we've got we want your feedback to go see what that looks like with it being remote as well so like a narrow it down to two candidates for a position and then have community members weigh in on that is that what I'm hearing potentially if we even got to you know having that many we felt like we'd want to move for work so I asked how many how many positions are we filling is that a open board meeting question I guess I would just like to encourage that we consider in holding that those community members are parents as early as we can in the process of being on the interview I have always appreciated when there was parents in the room and could could fill that role in and provide that touchpoint for me as an educator to learn about a community and given that were hiring anyway I don't know how many were hiring but it feels like a good percentage of the school that would be important to involve I think parents voices in as early as possible I would I would I would ask for that second that I know we don't want to and we're trying to Streamliner but you know not make it sort of as ungainly or as widespread as before but I think if we are yeah if you're talking about possibly some of the staff including a parent a Community member is parent I got excited and it has a lot of value and it just it always fits just bring that outside perspective I think is pretty valuable or let you know early on as opposed to waiting till the very end and saying A or B this is your choice or just a who knows oh yeah I would Echo Eric sentiments on that rich I guess you were talking about how many positions at end of Kelsey's got to talk about some some of that non-public but Kelsey did you want to share what the conversations the teachers have been having about whether or not your number as far as you know hiring at 6 teacher so we have been trying really hard if anybody's moving out in a little school like this one family can make a huge difference to a costume that's already pretty small so there there was a meeting where staff were talking about potentially not having that 6 teacher if we can make a combined class work to be able to keep the special room so where looking at your house and then all of these things out but looking at a potential of having a couple multi-grade classrooms so that we would be looking for we would be having five classrooms instead of 6 have said that they'd be willing to take on some more students in their classroom in order to keep the specials classroom can you say more about that calcium in weed we spent a long time passion that one out and this is a big change at least for me to hear about right now yeah so we have had few students are numbers are are down actually right now we're down there at 77 right now at some some families move out and then just from touching words about people potentially it could really adjust it could really affect our numbers a Time the word for trying to right now if we're if we're talking about a few people moving that we thought might move and we're looking at Elisa in time third grade class students so we're not difference does it make it that much bigger and and I think that sort of the reality around for special was in a special room some stuff that were saying that if it means me taking on a couple more students in my room it's so hard to tell but we're going to end up with you cuz you really taking out six or eight more students in a this is not couple I guess are we talking about splitting or at least I mean what's was that thrown around cuz I thought you know we had General agreement from this I thought from the teachers and free conversations with splitting race is not optimal at all and so I'd let you know I can't see taking six to eight more kids as just being an easy thing or anybody is that is that what is being suggested if I can help out rich I think know when the budget process is put together teachers were looking at that we were talking about 9 or 10 3rd graders 6 I like quite a few less and and I thinking of class sizes of just over 22 class sizes of 25 to 28 which is another place we were talking about so I think you know and then the course as the years progressed I think the staff from what you know I'm hearing is you know what their second thoughts are coming up of how valuable that multi-purpose room is to them and losing that is a huge thing so is a I don't know if calcium you're obviously this all these conversations kind of got put on hold because of covid-19 and I think you know she needs the opportunities of that that little bit more and if we're going to have another conversation another meeting about busing in a few weeks maybe we could kind of code join the six teacher conversation with that and she can have a better idea of what teachers think would be a good I just I just know that conversations have been pretty limited that Kelsey's been able to have on this topic I understand that you have some more discussion on this at our next emergency meeting obviously time is of the essence and we need to know you know what our numbers are the higher okay anything else we didn't cover on recruitment anyone else have any more concerns or questions they wanted to put out there it says action next to it will there be an action on this I can't think of an action that needs to be taken out this time Rich sure if that was just an oversight okay for you I would do good on this for now I know we got to talk about it again in a couple weeks yeah I'm I'm I'm good I just again want to Advocate forgetting Community stakeholders involved as early in the process as we can and I just know that our are his a recent history of search committees has been every classroom teacher in if it seemed like everybody in the building was on the search team and it's just too I know the guys ideal and I think we talked about that many times and I'm I'm sensing Kelsey that that's not the approach we're taking this time I guess I will feel more comfortable if I if it sounds like it's in flocks there is so much on our plate right now to deal with I've never worked so hard teaching in my life is right now so I totally get I feel a little more comfortable if I could tell people while they're there three people on the team before people on the team and one of them includes parents but it doesn't sound like we're in that were there yet it's certainly been something that I really wanted to stay on top of but trying to be respectful as well as as what the teacher place with right now and I'm trying to overwhelm them but this is certainly a priority for me and I posted so I feel the pressure and a death move forward and be quick but I also don't want to make decisions without really true or thinking them for a when it's kind of a nice place to be in being new and and saying I don't know what you did before but let's talk about what worked and what didn't and being able to be more thoughtful about that and from what I understand from sort of WhatsApp was said before they weren't feeling like maybe there was somebody who had some of the finals it was really trying to be unanimous and in what in what people are watching so I my plan is to sort of make it clear that you know I absolutely want input but that you're in the position that I'm in that I'm in that I would ultimately meet the recommendation to to Rob so then get to the board okay yeah come to consensus when there's 4 people on a committee then when there's 14 movie 14 it's just hard when you know there could potentially be and if you want to make narrow Dentistry it's that means if there's one person that's not in it is hard when it's when it's so small to be able to get a good representation one person being left out or two maybe and I was like what was the one more person in the other way to look at it Kelsey maybe we can talk some more tomorrow Kelly did you have any Amazon recruitment not just don't like we out of whoever we hire how to be super flexible because we don't know what grades are going to be teaching and we don't know how many students are going to have and we don't know so I had to take flexibility when I guess I would just have to wrap it up I would have a case for experience a little bit of experience like Kelly said it's going to be don't know whether they don't know what they're walking into someone who's got some years behind them and a proven track record wood dime would be worth that the bumper nut in the pay scale I think Gregory I will move on to be will prove approval 2020-2021 school board meeting calendar it looks pretty standard or Sunday 4 p.m. except in March I don't have any thoughts on that okay so I make a motion to approve the Nelson school year 2020-2021 school board meeting calendar it all in favor Eric thank you Kelly sorry second I'm just I'm trying to go too fast here okay there's my second thank you all in favor Eric Kelly rich I am most curious OKC authorization of superintendent to hire except resignations probably want to speak to that so this is the typical manual when we go into summer some of the other districts are moving forward with doing that a little bit earlier knowing that it's going to be harder to me as regularly or as easily as we have Nest to have been going to crawl in the past Batman that are with that thought process we put forward all of the typical end-of-year ones that we normally do so that we can Focus emergency meetings on two specific items that we need to take action on you have my commitment with regarding to staff that we will call and ask for an Ami because there are recruitments that are out there and you know I would want the board to weigh in on that before we offer to come back to anyone so I would go ahead and continue to have those emergency meetings with that but if there were resignations at came up rather than waiting to have another emergency meeting you know those authorizations you know not just let her sing but even d e f and g are those are the ones we do annually every year but just to be clear Rob obviously this doesn't apply to the hiring of teaching staff just yet if we just discussed listen to you very very I'm clearly and you know listening to the process you guys do want to make sure that you get a consideration with the hiring of any new staff and so I'm happy to move forward in that regard without extending a contract we've gotten the approval of the board like we normally do thank you I want I mean I have nowhere to go so I'm available for any all the time so I'm I guess I'm a little I'm not sure why we need to do this yeah well just judging from what other boards of sand in that might great Derek, just judging from what other boards have said is that it is hard to get people together at specific times including your administrators who will Who are grinding it everyday I'll be honest it is a grind and it is not easy but lifts are heavier and heavier as we go further and further along and the amount of rubber that's on the tires is wearing thinner quicker than ever before I think all of our teaching staff know that and are feeling that but so what is the administrative staff we were still working everyday and trying to make sure they're seeing that everything that they're saying every so we know being mindful of everything those are typical optimizations that are given every year because there is absolutely no way that the administrative staff at 12 months a year it's at all ask in people need to recharge and and be able to do the day-to-day operation as well so that's other boys have already teen is already done that and there are other boards that have that on their agendas this month as well yeah I mean I definitely appreciate that as I think everybody's just working hard I don't think if you're working at home remotely are you in your office working remotely as you are it's tough and it's there long days I guess as I look at it see-through G seems to make sense to me but for whatever it it does feel to me like I would want to be involved in the hiring and and resignation aspect rather than going summer motive and in that responsibility solely over to you even though I hear you saying you're not going to do that it just I think I'd feel more comfortable if we'd held off on that one for now so if I might just speak to the ref Nation Pizza do you know if we receive a resignation tomorrow for me from a professional staff member allowing me to accept that on behalf of the board allows us to post that position much quick I've been trying to reschedule another emergency meeting now I hear you that that you're available at any time but that might not be the case for everybody else in order to do that and I've got you got my commitment on the hiring committee as we get to that point to bring that to the board for consideration modify it to just let the superintendent accept resignation and and then we can hold off on the hiring part until later absolutely can I ask what a resignation like what is that typically look like etcetera letter from a professional staff member saying look due to unforeseen circumstances I'm not going to be able to return for the 2020-2021 school year as I originally anticipated so I'm asking to be let out of my contract that you would offered me something like that and Eric as far as us you know the board being involved with resignations it seems to me something we would just like I pissed can you picture a scenario where we would turn down a resignation I mean I guess I are cat like to hear you could you mention resignation specifically like about that aspect of it I might have questions whether they could be answered or not I'm not sure but if say to classroom teachers resigned that would that would give me pause and make me I would have questions about that I mean I can't stop them from resigning but I could foresee resignations Atwood that could That Could prompt meet it to want to dig a Little Deeper can I ask Rob what would be notification process for us if you did receive a resignation it would be at our next emergency meeting of whatever sort it would be but it would allow a the move the hiring process for word I mean it if you anticipate not releasing somebody from a from a contract then then you should not give me that authorization however I will stay you I think you stated it there is there is very little that we would be able to do in terms of preventing someone from resigning at any given point in time other than report that to the state of nature so I think I would be comfortable with Kelly's suggestion if we just a man that to allow the superintendent to accept resignations but leave off higher I guess maybe I'll pop this in your eye. I would just like to recognize as a as a boy remember and apparent how what a wonderful job that I believe that the SAU is done and the Nelson School staff is done to respond it's been impressive to be on the receiving end of that of those daily daily updates sometimes you don't chew or three times a day especially the beginning and the how the staff is risen to the occasion in a big way so I just like to to recognize just what a really impressive impressive job taking on an unprecedented situation like this and having friends in other states and talking you know the parents of friends were parents in other states and listening to sort of newsworthy comparing notes we are really we seem to be ahead of the curve s that's all just did a hard-working two to really just grinding it out like you were saying and so that's not that's not going unnoticed and so it's definitely very much appreciated and recognized and you deserve you deserve all the accolades said that you hopefully will get for this great job thank you Kelly appreciate that in a you know I've got to be quite Frank and quite upfront. the only possible because of the outstanding staff we have throughout all of our buildings and all levels of Blaze here I know I know the central office leadership team we meet every single day make sure we try to stay ahead of everything that we can possibly stay ahead of us.
