School Counselor Becky Kohler’s Message

Hello and Welcome to My Page!

Elementary school years set the tone for developing the knowledge, attitudes and skills for children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. Through a comprehensive developmental school counseling program, I work as a team with the school staff, parents and the community to create a caring climate and atmosphere. In my role as school counselor, I provide education, prevention, early identification and intervention.

The Nelson School Counseling Program includes but is not limited to:

Whole School Guidance Curriculum and Individual Student Planning

Academic support, including organizational, study and test-taking skills

Education on understanding self and others (Peer relationships, coping strategies, and effective social skills)

Communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution

Multicultural/diversity awareness

School and community based referrals to meet the needs of students.

At Nelson School, Wednesday is the day that counseling services are provided on site. Please don't hesitate to contact me on Wednesdays at Nelson School, or drop an email anytime to bkohler@sau29.org. Collaboration is one of the most enjoyable and important aspects of my job. I look forward to developing relationships with all the families in the Nelson School Community.
