Lunch Program

A monthly lunch menu is sent home with students, or available in the office.

Morning beverage (OJ or Milk), as well as lunch or noon beverage (OJ, white milk or chocolate milk) will be available daily and begin on the first day of school.

Please note that breakfast and snack will be once again be offered through the lunch program. Milk or OJ will be available for morning purchase.

All money for these services will be collected in advance on Friday for the upcoming week. The exception to this is snack, which is cash only at the time. Children are to hand in their money to their teachers first thing in the morning. Payments are to be placed in an envelope or other container with the child's name and classroom number. No loose money will be accepted, this leads to great confusion. You may or may not wish to use the order slips provided with the menu, this is for your convenience only. If you wish to pay in round dollar amounts this is perfectly acceptable and much easier for bookkeeping.

We will not provide morning beverages to anyone with an outstanding balance of $10.00 until what is owed is paid in full. Lunch will be available but will consist of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit or 4 oz juice , and milk.

Eligible families are able to receive free or reduced price lunch. The appropriate application form will be sent home the first day of school. Please fill out and return to WMS Food Services. These forms will be available throughout the school year to accommodate any financial changes. After your application is received and reviewed you will be informed by mail if you are eligible or not. The Food Service Manager will be aware of your eligibility. FYI-the federal government uses the percentage of free and reduced students per student population to estimate if the school is eligible for Title 1 services. If you think there is a chance you may be eligible go ahead and apply, it may actually benefit WMS. Please call the school if you have any concerns or questions.

The Wells Memorial School Food Service will continue "Community Lunch Day" on Wednesdays. Community members may join us for lunch. Please call Mrs. Putnam by 9:30 AM on the day you will be attending. The price for guests remains at $3.00.
