DUE PROCESS STATEMENT
The law recognizes that children have basic rights just as their parents do. Court
rulings require that children's rights can not be violated or abridged simply because
they are young, attend school, and are subject to school rules. When major behavioral
problems occur, the school must provide due process to the child. As parents, you
should know that your child is entitled to know what he may have done wrong, who said
he did it, and what the consequences will be. He is also entitled to present his side of
the story and the reasons he acted as he did.
