MESSAGE TO PARENTS

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Jonathan Daniels School!

Each year we publish the Jonathan Daniels Parent Handbook to provide families with basic information about the school, its programs, and the services available to you and your child. We value the importance of communicating this information to you and we believe that your child's success at Jonathan Daniels School is dependent upon our school-parent partnership. Therefore it is essential that you become familiar with school policies, procedures, and philosophy.

Jonathan Daniels School is committed to providing a safe school environment in which the members of the school community are treated with respect. Our school bears the name of Jonathan M. Daniels, a Keene native who was murdered in 1965 in Hayneville, Alabama while trying to register black residents to vote. Jonathan Daniels School has clearly chosen a path that reflects the values that were promoted by Jonathan M. Daniels. Consequently, your children should always feel valued and respected by every staff member that he/she encounters.

We hope that you will find this parent handbook clear and useful. If, after reading the booklet, you still have questions please do not hesitate to contact us at 352-8012. You will also find a copy of this handbook, the JD monthly calendar, and other useful information on our website at www.sau29.org. Thank you for taking the time to read this booklet.

Sincerely,

Patricia Yoerger
Principal
