Meeting Minutes for May 12, 2008

 

Present: Carrie Stewart, Juli Drouin, Juanita Harper, Tracy Summers, Patty Yoerger, Janice Ramirez, Lisa Blanchette, Becky Russell, Sherrie Paltrineri, Judy Hoffman, Kathy Huston  

Secretary's Report:
Minutes from the April 14, 2008 meeting were reviewed and accepted.  

Treasurer's Report:
Treasurer's Report to be reviewed during the June 16th JDA meeting.  

Principal's Report:
Several families from Surry recently attended a two day registration event at JD. More families are expected to register their children over the next few months. Staffing for the 2008-09 school year to be determined, as this is dependent in part on the number of students from Surry. Mrs. Yoerger will apply for a class reduction grant from the state to fund a second 4th grade teacher for the next school year.  

Committee Reports:
Thank you to all who volunteered for the Teacher Luncheon, especially to Sherrie Paltrineri and Tracy Summers for their time and effort in planning this event.

Fundraising:
Those present reviewed several fundraising catalog options and narrowed the choice down to Genevieve and Believe. Carrie Stewart and Lisa Blanchette to decide which company to work with next year.

Circesta:
A planning meeting was recently held and progress is being made in preparation for this year's event. School insurance will cover Circesta activities. Mrs. Yoerger will contact Rob Allen regarding the need for a food license. She will also talk with Bonnie Day about Circesta signs in storage. Additional signs to be made and placed around town. Juli Drouin and Becky Russell expressed interest in making new signs. Mrs. Yoerger has contacted the police department and music department for their assistance with the parade. Carrie Stewart, Tammi Squires and Juli Drouin are seeking donations for Circesta.  

New Business:
A committee sign-up list was circulated for next year's JDA activities. This list will be sent home and to teachers/staff for additional volunteers. Anyone with names of people who have greatly contributed to the JDA this year should email Janice Ramirez. Once a list is compiled, a decision will be made as to how to acknowledge these individuals.  

With nothing further, this meeting was adjourned.

Next meeting is scheduled for June 16, 2008 at 6:15pm.
