HOMEWORK
Well-planned homework is an enriching supplement to the child's school day tasks. We feel homework should be assigned with consideration of
other growth factors including socialization and physical development. With this in mind assignments will take into account the following considerations:
- Make-up work for time lost due to illness or absence.
- Work of a remedial nature.
- Reading for book reports.
- Research projects.
- Completing assignments when not finished in school.
- Special assignments.
How can you assist? When possible, you should:
- Set aside a time when homework is to be done.
- Allot adequate space.
- Provide tools - paper, pencils, etc.
- Provide proper lighting.
- Set appropriate time limits.
- Prohibit listening to T.V. or radio during the study time.
- Help by showing how, not by doing.
- Give your support and encouragement.
