EMERGENCY AND SAFETY PRACTICES

1. Fire drills are held periodically throughout the year. We are required by law to hold a minimum of 10 per year. In addition, we will practice intruder alerts, lock downs, and shelter-in-place drills.
2. Each school is to have an evacuation plan when children need to leave the school in case of a general emergency. This plan is to be clearly defined in cooperation with the Keene Fire Department and the Keene Police Department. On site, off site, and bus evacuation drills will be practicedon a regular basis.
3. In case of an emergency evacuation, Jonathan Daniels School offsite evacuation areas are: The First Baptist Church on Maple Ave. or, if required, Keene High School.
